Mackenzie finds
himself in rescue as his person has dementia. Poor Mac was left in the
crate at long lengths of time as she would forget to let him out. So Mac is
looking for a new home with someone who has the time to play and walk with
him. He loves other dogs and is very friendly. He has been given a clean
bill of health and recently groomed. He sleeps well in his crate. He is a
true terrier and destroys stuffed animals! Please fill out an
application if you think you have the love and time to give to Mac.
Update...
Just a quick
announcement about the latest addition to the West Coast Wende household -we
adopted MacKenzie (Mac, MacK, Dude, Little Dude) and he is settling in real
well. We found him at Southwest Cairn Rescue; he is originally from Kansas
and came to California (he is a 5 year old, male, wheaten Cairn Terrier,
(same as Toto from Wizard of Oz) and was being kept in a crate all day &
night because his previous owner had dementia and forgot about him. He loves
to tear up stuffed animals (really gets in there and eviscerates them) and
he is totally in to lap sitting.
He is already house
trained. He is a bit “nippy”, he actually got Barbie on the lip yesterday,
but he has learning to calm down. He is getting “sit” real well and we are
going to start training classes this week because I need to behave better
(per Barbie) and he is learning to use his new doggie door to the back
patio-still a bit skeptical and gives us the ol’ “are you kidding” look. We
took our first bath/shower yesterday and he was great-we have matching pairs
of board shorts.
He is still
checking out the place and has made some friends around the block already
(he is socializing rather well), as well as “tagged” the entire
neighborhood, and he is working on total domination of the house and our
hearts as I write this. He bought his first park pass today to at Irvine
Regional; he had to write a check, he is still waiting for his new AMEX
card. Here is a picture of the little guy.

ADOPTED!!! CONGRATULATIONS !!!
