Rocky

Rocky is about a 12 month old, male neutered Cairn terrier mix, and weighs 10.4 pounds.

A couple of months ago Rocky was hit in the head by a tow truck &he was brought into the veterinary hospital where i work. He was in a near-coma for about one week during which he received intravenous fluids, pain management, and medications to decrease brain swelling. After about 5 days of hospitalization, I brought him home in foster care to continue rehabilitation.

Rocky is now a happy, friendly, playful guy! He is one of the cutest pups I've ever seen.

Rocky does have some residual brain damage: he cannot see very well. It seems he can only see moving objects and large objects; however, he gets around the house & yard just fine. He wrestles with my 70#shepherd mix, 5# toy poodle mix, 35# terrier mix, & several of our cats who will tolerate it:)

Rocky loves toys & treats, loves cuddling, loves rough housing, loves sleeping in your lap, and he's good in the car.

Rocky's residual brain damage that causes him to turn in circles to the left whenever he's excited or anxious (and he's a puppy so he's excited lot!); when he is turning in circles you can call his name and he'll come to you, it's not as if he cannot stop.

Rocky is not fully housebroken and I cannot promise that he ever will be. He is crate-trained and has 'wee wee pads' in his kennel that he will use if he's left in the crate too long during the day; he usually holds it overnight. He does go to the bathroom outside, but if he is left inside for too long he will also urinate or defecate inside.

Rocky likes to sleep in the bedroom - we have one crate for him in the living room and one in the bedroom because if he's left in the living room crate overnight he gets scared & howls, but when we moved him to the bedroom crate overnight he curls up and goes right to sleep.

Rocky is neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, heartworm tested, micro-chipped, and on heartworm/intestinal worm prevention. He is ready to find a permanent loving home. I am looking for a great home for Rocky.

If you or someone you know is interested in adopting a sweet-natured, cute-as-a-button companion, please us know and fill out an application. Rocky is located in the Phoenix AZ area.
